Amanda Holden reveals she always tries to look good to 'preserve her dignity'
Amanda Holden is unfazed by the complaints about her controversial fashion choices on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ claiming she always tried to look good to “preserve her dignity.”
The 48-year-old presenter recently sparked controversy with her daring ensembles on the show.
Back in 2017, Amanda garnered more than 200 complaints from OfCom for her outfits – most notably her so-called “stripper” look for the semi-final.
And this year, a particular gown worn for one of the live shows provoked a fresh round of complaints.

But the Heart breakfast presenter claims to be “mindful” of her sartorial decisions, explaining that she would never leave the house in her PJs or not looking her best.
“There’s no way I’d step out in my pyjamas or rock up without a lash,” she told Hello! magazine.
“To preserve my own sense of dignity, I always try to look good.”

The mum-of-two went on to explain that her attitude towards looking good mainly comes from her grandmother, Ethel.
“My nan Ethel used to tell me: ‘Never let your husband see you without lipstick’. I’m very mindful of how I look when I go out – which is just as well as I get photographed every day.”
Last month a spider’s web-inspired dress, by Lebanese fashion designer Nicolas Jebran, sparked a small number of complaints to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom.
And in 2016, a plunging gown she wore on the show also sparked complaints to the watchdog.

But as well as facing some sartorial criticism, Amanda has also been praised by many for her age-defying figure.
Back in April, the presenter donned a skintight white swimsuit with lace up sides by designer Melissa Odabash and fans were quick to share their appreciation of the look.
As well as discussing her fashion choices, the television personality also shared the secret to her happy marriage to husband Chris Hughes citing laughter as the key.
“Chris is very funny and errs on the side of lightness,” she said.
“We can make jokes out of any situation throughout the best and darkest times of our lives. He’s rubbish at romance, but he’s there for the solid things – such as keeping my car clean and making sure I relax.
“He’s a proper bloke who looks after me. I’m a strong, opinionated woman, but he helps steer the Mandy ship.”
