Amanda Holden has defended herself after sharing a photograph depicting her kissing daughter Hollie, six, on the lips.

The television presenter uploaded the image via Instagram four days ago while on holiday in Bahrain and made it clear that she would not pay attention to trolls.

One of her fans swiftly took to the comments section to warn the 47-year-old of potential backlash, as he commented: “Standby for trolls saying kissing on lips is perverted or some c***!”

But Holden was quick to prove she doesn’t have time for disapproving messages, as she replied, “B******* to them #family. They’re not well x.”

In response to her bold response, fans took to the post to praise the mother-of-two’s honesty.

One wrote, “Real loving families don’t give a fig about all this kissing on the lips rubbish idiots are spouting nobody would dare stop me… lovely to see a loving parent with her child.”

While another commented: “Pictures of kissing your child of children is great to see as it shows the love you have for each other.”

“Absolutely love this beautiful picture! Nothing more beautiful than a mother or father loving their child with a simple kiss on the lips,” another quipped.

But Holden was right to be prepared for online backlash, as David Beckham was recently criticised after sharing a photograph of himself kissing daughter Harper, seven, on an ice skating rink.

The former footballer, who shares four children with wife Victoria Beckham, took to Instagram to post the snap back in November alongside the caption: “Christmas is coming. Let’s go skate”.

But social media users were quick to judge the 43-year-old, as one labelled the image ‘just sick’ while another wrote: “Call the police”.

One the divisive topic, Beckham has previously defended giving his children a quick peck.

“I kiss all my kids on the lips,” he said. “Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn is 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I’m very affectionate with the kids.”

“It’s how I was brought up – and Victoria – and it’s how we are with our children.”
