Amanda Holden and Alan Carr's next European renovation is lined up – we have all the details
We love a renovation TV show – and Amanda Holden and Alan Carr have become the go-to celebrities for renovating homes in Italy. They're back with another show – Amanda and Alan's Spanish Job.
This time, the pair are heading to the south of sunny Spain to renovate a rambling, crumbling property in Andalusia. Their plan is to draw tourists back to this area of the Costa del Sol by showing unloved and undiscovered places along the coast.
The house they've chosen is their biggest renovation yet – as well as DIY, they'll turn their hands to interior decoration, which for this property they'd like to reflect all the influences on the Andalusian region.
As well as transforming the house, Amanda and Alan will be learning more about this area of Spain, visiting the Sierra Nevada mountains and indulging in local cuisine – and of course, drinking Sangria.
Speaking about the show, Amanda said: “It’s wonderful how often I’m stopped in the street and told how much people love our show. Alan and I have the best time filming it and to have reached series three already is beyond the dreams of our lockdown pitch to the BBC!
"By day we love getting our hands dirty knocking down walls and lugging around power tools knowing we’ll be sipping on an ice-cold reward by night, forgetting the cameras are rolling! Bring on the Spanish sun, we can’t wait to get started.”
Alan is equally excited to be heading to Spain, and said: "It’s always exciting when a show you love gets recommissioned but the fact that we will be bringing our unique DIY expertise to a whole different country makes it even more special.
"We are saying ciao for now and Hola España! Can’t wait to grab our power tools and get our hard hats on and bring some much needed TLC to a casa in Spain!”
Amanda and Alan's Spanish Job will be on BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this year.
