Heiress Amanda Hearst marries in not one but five wedding dresses
Wearing one dress for your wedding is overrated. At least that’s the impression we got from American heiress Amanda Hearst’s wedding in which the bride wore not one, not two, but five dresses.
It was tipped as one of the most anticipated society weddings of the year and it did not disappoint.
The heiress married 47-year-old Norwegian film director Joachim Rønning, whose credits include ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies’ and Disney’s upcoming movie, ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’.
The couple kicked off the four-day extravaganza on Thursday at the breathtaking Hearst Castle in California, built by Amanda’s great-grandfather in San Simeon.
Amanda, 35, who is the granddaughter of publishing tycoon William Randolph Hearst and co-founder of the sustainable fashion retailer Maison de Mode, stepped out in a stunning white high-neck embellished Viktor and Rolf mini dress at the couple’s rehearsal dinner on Thursday, which she styled with a pair of nude Sergio Rossi heels and a Castle-shaped Judith Leiber clutch.
The bride then opted for a bespoke off-the-shoulder princess Oscar de la Renta ball gown from the Fall 2018 collection to say ‘I do’ during Friday’s ceremony which featured a gorgeous floral embroidery down the skirt, styling it with Fred Leighton jewels and vegan shoes from New York label Aera.

She later changed into a stunning Galvan halter dress for desert on the castle’s Moroccan-themed terrace before riding off with her new husband, who kept it simple wearing a white Huntsman Savile Row tuxedo jacket, black trousers and bow tie, in a vintage Rolls Royce wearing a couture Giambattista Valli number whilst they made their way to Hollywood’s favourite haunt, Chateau Marmont, where the couple first met three years ago.
And the fashion didn’t stop there. At the hotel on Saturday, Amanda opted for another Oscar de la Renta mini dress to dance comfortably into the night.
So which fairy godmother executed these incredible ensembles? Amanda was styled by none other than celebrity stylist Micaela Erlinger, who counts Lupita Nyong’o, Blake Lively and Meryl Streep as clients.
The lavish wedding saw a slew of VIP guests join the couple in their celebrations including Amanda’s childhood friend Paris Hilton who DJ’d for the night.
Others included Lauren Bush Lauren, Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell and Amanda’s famous family members Patty Hearst and her daughter Lydia.
Amanda Hearst is known for campaigning for animal rights and sustainable fashion over the last 10 years.
