Alison Hammond breaks silence on toyboy 23 years younger - and how son feels about him
Alison Hammond has finally broken her silence on her new romance with boyfriend David Putman and revealed what her son Aiden thinks of her dating. The This Morning host has been secretly dating Russian masseuse David for a number of months.
Alison, 49, appeared to have previously shared photographs of her and David to her Instagram Stories, and has been seen commenting on David's posts as she left a love heart eye emoji on one of his recent uploads. However, she hadn't publicly addressed her new relationship until she appeared on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe's Parenting Hell podcast, where she discussed dating.
“Are you single Alison?” the pair asked her. She then gushed: “No… I’m not single.. I’m dating. I’m dating!”
Rob and Josh then asked her how dating works as a single parent to son Aiden, 19. She admitted: “It’s more difficult, he is more verbal now that he is older. He’ll want to know who this person is and he’ll want to meet them.
“It’s a lot harder. He’ll wanna know that this guy is treating me well. The person who I am seeing at the moment, he is on his instagram and is like ‘yeah I like him, he’s not too in your face’. Aiden is on it.”
She then discussed Aiden and David meeting. Alison continued: “When they actually met, he really liked him, he really thought he was lovely, so that’s nice. Thank goodness for that! Because normally Aiden hates anybody I date, literally just not interested. And you just know at that point, if Aiden doesn’t like them, this isn’t gonna work."
It was first revealed that Alison and David were dating in April. David, who stands at 6ft 10in, is known to have trained as a body therapist, and boasts a range of skills including "classic, lymphatic drainage, anti-cellulite, wraps, facial massage", reports the Mirror.
It was through his work that he first encountered TV star Alison, who allegedly booked in for a £150 massage last year. According to The Sun, Alison would regularly book in for massages with David in between her busy filming schedule. Having formed a friendship, soon romance blossomed and the pair reportedly began dating towards the end of 2023.
David is said to be "not bothered by fame" and would not be concerned about the 23-year age gap between him and rumoured love interest Alison. A pal told The Sun: "David is a very quiet, unassuming and thoughtful person who likes to play the guitar. He’s the strong, silent type, not a pushover, but not chatty like Alison."
They continued: "In that sense they’re perfect for each other and to David age is just a number. He’s not bothered by fame, he probably didn’t even know who Alison was when they first met."
