Alison Brie has revealed why she's choosing not to have children in a candid interview about body image, her marriage to Dave Franco, and her career in Hollywood.

The GLOW star also joked that she and Dave already have two kids in the form of their beloved tabby cats Harry and Arturo, telling The Sunday Times: "They're our children... I don't really want to have kids. It's great because I don't worry about when I should get pregnant - between seasons, while we're shooting the show - I don't think about it every day.

"It would be nice, but I think of all the things that would be so stressful. I think about how much we're involved in our cats' lives. Oh my God, if it was a child!"

Describing her marriage to the Disaster Artist actor as "super-mellow", Alison said about her husband: "We spend time together at night. We just like to hang out. Having a really supportive partner in my life and knowing that he loves me no matter what. I’ve found my person.”

Alison is reprising her role as ruthless amateur Russian wrestler Ruth Wilder in Netflix's acclaimed comedy series GLOW, out later this month.

And having to perform her own stunts - while sporting many a spandex leotard - in the series has made her respect her body and see it in a new, more positive light.

"I look at my body in a different way now," she explained.

"I feel like an athlete. It's this tool that can do active and amazing things, versus looking at my body as the enemy that is never going to look the way I want it to look. It was a major change for me."

Alison was quick to add that she also has bad days too, reflecting: "But, then, as I hit that ultimate high of, 'Oh my God, I'll never feel unconfident again,' two days later I’ll crash and burn and have some horrible day, like, 'Oh my God, it was all so fragile this house I built, this house of confidence!'"

She disclosed that she now works out four times a week to stay in shape, something she chose to do for the job, rather than being pressured into it by producers.

"Our show-runners were not, like, 'You booked this job, now we want you to get in amazing shape so that you look good in your leotard.' The training was my idea. There's nothing fake about your full body weight landing on the mat on the floor."

Alison declined to comment on the allegations of sexual misconduct against brother-in-law James Franco, which he, through a lawyer, has denied.

But the 35-year-old star commended the women emboldening other women to speak up about abuse and harassment in the industry and making it a safer place to work in the wake of #MeToo and Time's Up.

"It's a wonderful thing that women are empowering other women, making voices heard and having this community that's very safe," she said. "This wave has been building for a long time in our industry and it’s finally broken."
