Alexa Chung wore a really 'ugly' pair of shoes and we are buying them anyway
Fashion powerhouse and indie-sleaze fashion icon Alexa Chung just proved that she still has an eye for design. Her own eponymous label may have sadly folded last year, but rest assured, she still knows how to make a major statement in the outfit department.
While most Easter weekends brimmed with fluffy chicks and springy lambs, Alexa's bank holiday favoured another member of the animal kingdom. In a snap shared on her Instagram Stories with her 6 million followers, the 39-year-old rocked some frog-shaped footwear – and we couldn't help but do a double take.

The unique amphibian-style clogs are part of a collaboration between British fashion label JW Anderson and quirky heritage rain boot retailer Wellipets. Alexa styled her unconventional footwear with a pair of blue straight-leg jeans – one of the TV presenter's wardrobe staples – allowing her glossy, moss green clogs to take centre stage.
Each shoe features hand painted details – bulbous yellow eyes and a rich red mouth as well as ladder grip rubber soles. The shoes are available in two other colourways, a deep petrol blue and a bright marigold, all of which retail at £370.

Eagle-eyed fans of Alexa's style will notice that this is not the first time that the fashion icon has incorporated a frog-shaped piece into her repertoire. At London Fashion Week earlier this year, Alexa stepped out with a hyper-realistic piece of arm candy which resembled a frog from JW Anderson's FW23 collection, worn to the label's showcase.
Honestly? We have so many questions. Clearly, Carrie Bradshaw's pigeon is out and instead the frog is the animal du jour, and we thank Alexa for alerting us.
Luckily, no frogs were harmed in the making of these clogs, but we can't say the same for our eyes when we clapped upon the finished result. Polarising and playful, snap these up for spring while they're still in stock, and make a major statement with your footwear this season.
