CVs at the ready people, there’s a dream job up for grabs, because the Duchess of Cambridge’s private secretary is leaving her post this summer.

Rebecca Deacon, has been Kate’s right-hand woman since 2012, the year after the Cambridges wed and has worked for the royal family for around a decade.

It is thought Rebecca has decided to resign, as she is engaged to Adam Priestly and due to marry later this month in London. She has reportedly been given permission to hold the ceremony at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace because of her links to the Royal Family. Forget John Lewis vouchers, that’s a leaving gift of a whole other level.

The official statement from the palace reads: “After a decade of service to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, Rebecca Deacon will be stepping down as private secretary to the Duchess of Cambridge. She plans to leave the household in the summer.”

“Their Royal Highnesses are incredibly grateful for all the hard work and support Rebecca has provided over the past ten years, and wish her well in the next phase of her career.”

So if you are thinking of applying for the job, what can you expect your new role to involve? Well according to the Daily Mail, you’ll have to organise all Kate’s events and ensure you keep her up to speed on her engagements and the people she’s meeting with.

Sounds ok right? But then of course there’s the additional stuff like accompanying the Duchess on royal tours, red carpet events and running around after Prince George and Princess Charlotte. And we reckon Kate would be a pretty cool boss to work for.

Although that’s the only opening available right now, there are a few other positions to keep an eye on in the Duchess’ workforce.

Heading up Team Kate is her hair stylist Amanda Cook-Tucker who once famously trekked up a mountain in Bhutan to tame Kate’s tresses.

Then there’s her very own supernanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo who has been taking care of their royal cutnesses since Prince George was around six months old.

Next up is the PA-come-stylist Natasha Archer who’s been working at royal towers for more than three years and who’s rumoured to be responsible for picking out the statement blue and white polka dot dress Kate wore when leaving hospital with a newborn Prince George.

Finally, working as a trusted assistant to the departing Rebecca Deacon is Sophie Agnew who’s job it is to stay on top of vital day-to-day admin.

Maybe she’s hoping to get a promotion and step up into the role when Rebecca leaves in the summer, but she’ll have fight us for it first.

If anyone needs us we’ll be working on our application. Dear Kate…
