The 67th Grammy Awards were a standout night for pop princess Sabrina Carpenter. Nominated for six awards, she scooped up Best Pop Solo Performance for 'Espresso' and Best Pop Vocal Album for 'Short n' Sweet', while also making her debut on the Grammys stage, captivating the audience with renditions of her chart toppers, 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please'. To top it off, she wowed the fashion crowd with her custom pastel blue JW Anderson gown and soft-hued, natural-beauty look.

While she's not making and breaking records or launching her perfume, Sabrina has her own tried-and-tested routines that ensure she stays grounded and feeling calm and centred – it's not easy being an international superstar, after all. WH shares some of the singer-songwriter's health and beauty secrets.

1. She practices gratitude

Speaking to Marie Claire, she mentioned that she started off each day by noting what she was thankful for. 'This is very corny, but I do try to list things that I'm grateful for first thing in the morning, so I can start off my day in an attempt to make it more positive, before anything else gets into my head. It has [benefitted] my days a lot, just by taking those couple seconds. Otherwise it's very easy to read something that is either good or bad news, but it just affects you in a weird way.

2. She doesn't drink coffee

Her hit single may be called 'Espresso', but Sabrina doesn't turn to a cup of joe for an energy boost, instead sharing with Rolling Stone that she prefers another caffeine-containing stimulant. 'My fans know that I have a very terrible obsession with yerba mate, an Argentinian tea. It's been an addiction for quite some time now.'

The South American drink, according to Medline Plus, can supposedly aid with athletic performance, memory headache and fatigue, though the scientific jury is still out.

Elaborating in The Strategist, she explained it was because 'coffee can be a little hard to finish. It’s heavier, whereas this is a lot lighter'. She also said that yerba mate 'tastes like sweeter mint tea and feels like I’m doing a two-for-one: mouthwash and drinking something I enjoy.'

She's also partial to green tea, which provides another gentle caffeine boost. 'There're so many benefits of drinking green tea', she shared with Elle. Rich in antioxidants, the beverage can ward off cell damage from free radicals, improve cardiovascular health and lower cholesterol.

3. She takes CBD gumdrops

'I will usually take these before performances or meetings I’m really nervous for,' she said to The Strategist. 'And also when I’m sore from being on the road or dancing a lot for a specific job. It’s great for healing pain naturally and anxiety. I don’t even really realise they’re working, but then I look back and I’m like, "Oh, I’ve been much calmer for the last three hours." These don’t make me sleepy, which I like.'

4. Writing, baths and oils are her self-care ritual

‘I do love a bath,’ she told Marie Claire. ‘I think baths have been a life-saver to me, and again, music. Writing music has been my self-care. If I’m alone and I’m really stressed, I will be at my piano for hours on end.’

She also inhales essential oils through her diffuser. On a video with Elle, she revealed that, 'I have these energetic oils that are supposed to wake me up' during her early mornings.

5. She has a foolproof skincare routine

Speaking to The Strategist, she explained: 'I started taking care of my skin when I was at this point in my life where I didn't have great skin, and once I started applying sunscreen every day, I realised how much it protected me. I have super-sensitive skin and I want it to age well, so that's why I apply sunscreen every day.'

'I've been doing the same [skincare routine] for a long time, but it's a normal routine: cleanser and toner and sunscreen,' she elaborated in Marie Claire. 'Every time I do it, I automatically feel a lot better, and it makes me feel a little bit more centred. I usually try to find really good vitamin C products as well.

6. She uses rose-water spray

'Whenever I'm tired or my skin doesn't feel super great, I love rose-water spray' as a quick refresher, she shared with The Strategist. 'It smells really good. I use it on the plane, and I have one in my car as well. When I’m in the studio or on set it’s so easy for me to get tired, so this also wakes me up. It’s really great for sensitive skin, and it’s never made my makeup run.'

7. She appreciates natural beauty

As being on set and stage takes its toll, 'I like to give my skin a break and not wear [makeup] all the time', she revealed to Marie Claire.

She likes a minimalist look on others, too. 'Every time I’ve ever met someone that really was just so genuinely, authentically themselves, it’s such a beautiful thing, and you can kind of feel that radiating off of them', she continued.

8. She doesn't watch TV

And while we’re forever working on her screen time, Carpenter’s got it nailed. ‘I can’t remember the last time I watched a TV show,’ she revealed to Marie Claire. ‘By the end of the day, I feel like I’ve used up everything I have, so I just love sleep and getting to sleep as quickly as I can.’
