At 67, Denise Austin Reveals What Keeps Her ‘Feeling Young’

Denise Austin consistently inspires women of all ages to live a healthy lifestyle with her top wellness tips and over-50 workout tutorials. Now, Austin is sharing one of her secrets to “feeling young” at 67 years old.
“This is 67!!! Dance as if nobody is watching!!! Put on your workout clothes, a great song, and just DANCE!!” Austin captioned her fun, upbeat dancing video. “This keeps me feeling young!!! Joyful!! It also boosts your metabolism, gets your energy flowing, and improves your mood!! Feel good and reset your mind. Dancing is good for the soul!! Xoxoxo.”
Her fans loved her advice. “You are just a joy to watch! I’ve been watching you for maybe 40 years, is that possible 🤣 Thank you,” one fan commented. “Simply an outstanding individual! Austin is definitely onto something with this tip—dancing can benefit health of people of all ages. Research has found that doing Zumba, a type of dancing workout, resulted in better memory, motor function, and mood of participants. Additionally, one 21-year study of adults over 75 conducted by the New England Journal of Medicine showed that dancing was the one physical activity observed to be “associated with a reduced risk of dementia.”
This isn’t the first time the fitness pro has opened up about embracing aging. She’s shared that “healthy aging” is possible for everyone. Her top tip? Staying active.
“I often get asked questions about aging…and I LOVE it because it’s something that we ALL go through! Every single one of us is aging every day…so why not make the most of it!” she captioned a past Instagram post. “We have the power to truly embrace aging and live life to the fullest every day! One of the BEST ways to promote healthy aging is to move your body every day.”
