6 Beach-Ready Trends We Spotted at Miami Swim Week

The buzzing beachfront city of Miami has more than earned its unofficial-official title as fashion's swim capital. This year's annual Paraiso Miami Swim Week recently concluded after a captivating whirlwind of runways spotlighting boho-chic crochet suits and slips, seashore-inspired prints and embellishments (seashells and starfish galore!), as well as bold takes on the beloved itty-bitty bikini.

From bright, sunshine-y shades to minimalist contrasting trims, there's a beach-ready trend for every summer wardrobe. Ahead, we've rounded up some of the standout swimwear moments we spotted on the 2024 Paraiso Miami Swim Week runways, as well as similar styles you can shop right now.

Contrasting Trims

There's no shortage of eye-catching florals and pops of neon within Miami's beachside scene, but these sleek two-tone trims were made for the minimalists and monochromatic dressers of the world. From Azulu's cut-out one piece to Seafolly's sporty simplicity, prepare to spot many clean lines of contrasting trim by the pool or the ocean this summer.

Here Comes The Sun

As a welcome dose of sartorial sunshine, beaming yellow shades brightened up Miami's catwalks. We spotted the vibrant hue in a range of styles, like Chloe Rose's strappy high-rise thong and Leslie Amon's golden halter neck, which the designer paired with an embellished crochet cover-up.

Sporty Zippers

String bikinis definitely aren't going anywhere, but Paraiso Miami Swim Week designers went all-in on a sporty alternative: a zip-up front. Whether it's a metallic one-piece from Cupshe or a collared crop top from Shan, it's all very "Baywatch"-coded. Cue the slow-motion running reel.

So Many Seashells

With the ocean right in Miami's backyard, it makes sense that seashore themes — think seashells, starfish, waves — took center stage. Luli Fama approached its aquatic pattern with swirling neon colorways, while Seafolly tapped into Grecian motifs seen in ancient art and pottery. As for Sinesia Karol, the brand debuted the seashell bikini straight out of every mermaid lovers' dreams.

By now, we're sure you've heard that boho-chic is back in full force, so naturally that fashion-induced fervor translates over to swimwear. While channeling a beach-forward take on the carefree '60s bohemian aesthetic (as well as your grandma's favorite pastime), designers like PQ Swim and Acacia spotlighted multi-colored crochet creations.

With its whisper of a sleeve, an off-the-shoulder accent adds an extra boost of drama to a swimwear moment. Sinesia Karol and Dippin' Daisy's both went floral, opting for an eye-catching black-and-white number and a frilly bikini specked with dainty petals, respectively.
