54 of world's most 'dangerous' countries Brits should not travel to
The world's most dangerous countries has been revealed in a list of 54 places not to travel to, according to the Foreign Office (FCDO).
And the updated list shows thirty of the countries deemed unsafe for British tourists are in Africa. The second-largest continent has 54 countries and is home to 1.3 billion people as the second-most populated continent in the world. But some of it should be avoided due to threats of terrorism and unstable political situations.
The list says that 11 of Africa's countries need to be completely avoided while 19 are partly off limits for tourists. But the FCDO does say that many places in Africa are completely safe to visit including Morocco, Cape Verde and Malawi, reports the Express.

The countries on the off-limits list are Chad, Niger, Libya, Mali, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, and Mozambique.
And the ones on the partly off-limits list are: Algeria, Mauritania, Western Sahara, Tunisia, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of the Congo, Angola, Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, and Côte d'Ivoire.
While Brits are free to ignore the FCDO advice and travel to these countries regardless, this may cause travel insurance policies to become invalid.
The FCDO regularly reviews and updates its travel advice and recently added nine new countries to its red list: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Iran, Sudan, Lebanon, Mozambique, and Mayotte. and New Caledonia.
But people shouldn't write off holidaying in Africa as there are plenty of places that are deemed to be completely safe.
And with its array of stunning beaches and jaw-dropping natural landscapes, such as Victoria Falls between Zambia and Zimbabwe and the dunes of Sossusvlei, Namibia to see, it's a draw for millions of tourists every year.
The countries that are safe to visit are Morocco, Cape Verde, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leon, Liberia, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Eswatini, Rwanda, Madagascar.
Currently, a total of 25 destinations are completely off-limits for British travellers, 44 percent of which are located in Africa. There are also 47 countries partially off-limits, with 40 percent being in Africa.
