London is an amazing city. You can pretty much never get bored in here and if you are, it’s time to move, you are clearly not in your right mind.
The quirky city is fun, multicultural and vibrant. But what really brings true Londoners together are the little details they can all relate to. No matter who you are, where you live or what you do, if you are living in the double decker capital, you know these 5 things happen to you on a regular basis.
Day Off = Rain
London’s rule no.1: If you are off work and eager to enjoy a nice day in the park, you bet it’s going to rain. I’m pretty sure I’m not only who goes through this every week.
All my working days are spent pining after the warm sun shining outside, and when I’m off I’m literally crying at the window because all hell broke loose and the storm has come. Why London, why?!
You pretty much hate all tourists
As much as you don’t want to be mean, admit it: you hate tourists. They are loud, confused and probably getting in your way. Not to mention, they pretty much take over central London over the weekend, making it impossible to go shopping.
Tube Strike = Late Everywhere
The time has come. The dreaded tube strike has started, and instead of 20 minutes, it takes you almost 2 hours to get to work. Can that travelling time be considered over-time by any chance? Oh well, you were late anyway.
Left-standers… MOVE!
Whenever you see someone standing on the left on the escalator you have a mini-heart attack and all you want to do is shout at them to move out of your freaking way. But being a true Londoner means you will just say, “Excuse me, please” and continue on your now-delayed-by-3-seconds journey.
You love and hate London in the same time
We all completely despise London at some point, only to fall back in love with it in the next 5 seconds. So you will probably simultaneously complain about the city and love it. Isn’t this the joy of life?
But really now, how can you hate a city that looks like this?
