From desert vistas to sandy beaches, here are some places you can get the most bang for your buck this spring.

The Carolinas: Beat the Summer Rush

“March and April in the Carolinas marks the beginning of mild spring weather, making it a prime time to visit before the summer crowds arrive,” said Maddi Bourgerie, director of communications and travel expert spokesperson at RVshare.

In Charleston, for example, there are plenty of walking tours and other activities to do for little to no cost. And you can find hotels for as little as $180 per night, on average, per Budget Your Trip.

Arizona’s Desert Bargains

Spring is prime time for Arizona’s outdoor treasures. “With just $35 entrance fee per vehicle, and many of the hiking trails and viewpoints being free, the Grand Canyon makes for an iconic pitstop,” Bourgerie explained.

And don’t miss Sedona’s red rocks. Entrance to the Red Rock State Park is just $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 7 to 13, and free for children 6 and under.

Utah’s National Park Paradise

According to Bourgerie, Utah’s national parks are particularly budget-friendly in spring.

Zion and Arches charge just $35 and $30, respectively, for a week-long pass, and you’ll beat the summer crowds.

Texas Hill Country

Texas offers serious bang for your buck in spring. Check out the Hill Country, which includes places like Austin and San Antonio.

“Explore cities like Austin for live music, explore the city’s free events or visit Barton Springs Pool (entry around $5),” Bourgerie said. Even better? “The Texas State Capitol is free to tour,” she said.

Per Budget Your Trip, a trip to Austin costs around $167 per day.
