This $4.7 Million Seattle Houseboat Lets You Watch the Sunset Over Lake Union From a Hot Tub

In the 1920s, fishermen and boatbuilders took up residence in simple houseboats set along the shore of Lake Union in Seattle, Washington. Since then the 580-acre lake has become a hotbed of luxurious floating abodes with impressive waterfront views and modern amenities. One of the area’s floating homes was brought to market earlier this year for $2.5 million; now another is up for grabs at $4.65 million, featuring a variety of custom millwork and 46-foot boat moorage.

Built in 1982, the two-story residence is one of 20 floating homes within the 1.5-acre Roanoke Reef enclave in the Eastlake neighborhood. The rustic green exterior is complemented by copper accents. Inside, the open floor plan provides two bedrooms and 1.5 baths across 1,773 square feet of living space. Honduran mahogany millwork and wood-trimmed windows are a few other key features that highlight its city skyline and Gas Works Park views from each level.

Downstairs, a spacious corridor with shelving for displaying knickknacks and keepsakes leads to the primary suite. The bedroom is not the most exciting space, but it is roomy with a fitted walk-in closet and a slate-tiled bath with a rain shower. The second bedroom is set up with two built-in desk spaces for getting work done, and just outside on a small deck is the hot tub. Completing the lower level is a laundry room and a powder room.
