3 hidden hair accessories at the SAG Awards

The exquisite gowns at award ceremonies always garner attention, but sometimes the smaller styling points – which can get lost – are just as beautiful. A case in point is these hair accessory moments from the SAG Awards 2019 showcased on Emily Blunt, Mandy Moore and Emma Stone. Invisible from the front, they were easily missed, but these embellished hairstyles deserve a close-up look.

Emily Blunt’s hair was business in the front, party in the back, with a Lelet NY barrette accessorising her chignon.

Of the inspiration, her hairstylist Laini Reeves explained: “Emily wore this beautiful Michael Kors custom gown for the SAG awards. The dress is so graphic in design, that I wanted the hair to complement the dress by keeping the hair looking really sleek and shiny.”

She first created a precise ponytail on the actress, which she rolled into the nape of the neck and secured with the accessory.

The addition of a single pearl pin in Mandy Moore’s slick low ponytail made a world of difference.

Hollywood hairstylist Ashley Streicher – who styled Moore’s hair using T3 tools, serum and hairspray for a shiny texture – revealed that the accessory was a Jennifer Behr Perla Bobby Pin.

Providing consistent hair inspiration, Emma Stone didn’t disappoint with this intricate up-do, accessoried with gold thread.

Her hairstylist Mara Roszak was responsible for the creation, explaining on Instagram that after waving her hair she pinned in “the fun thread wrap accessory,” twisting the hair as she did so.
