Tories bid to confuse voters with fake Labour manifesto website

A fake website pretending to contain Labour's manifesto in a bid to trick voters looking for the document has been set up by the Tories, according to reports.

Boris Johnson's party paid Google to promote its website - www.labourmanifesto.co.uk - to the top of its search results, said the Independent.

The move is the latest underhand tactic employed by the Tories, who have been caught out sharing doctored videos on social media and changing their Twitter profile to suggest they were an independent fact-checking organisation.

The real Labour manifesto, which includes a windfall tax on oil companies to fund an overhaul of the economy, a vow to build 100,000 council homes a year, and the promise of a Final Say referendum and extra cash for the NHS, can be found here.
