Danny Dyer thanks David Cameron on accepting Best Actor award

EastEnders actor Danny Dyer launched an expletive-ridden attack on former PM David Cameron as the star was honoured at the TV Choice Awards in London. Dyer, who plays Mick Carter, was given the prize for Best Soap Actor.

The awards, voted for by the public, celebrate the best of the last year in TV.

Giving thanks for the award, Dyer suggested that he may only have received the gong because he "called David Cameron a t**t". He thanked the former Tory leader in his acceptance speech, together with his daughter Dani, who he also credits with his success.

Speaking at the ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel, he said: "It's a right nutty night. Last year I ended up licking Mary Berry.

"I would like to believe that I got this award for being a a blinding actor, but it's probably because my daughter Dani won Love Island.

"And because I called David Cameron a t**t. I would like the thank David Cameron for being the f*****g t**t that he is."
