He was tackling the glass-clad building - which at more than 300 metres high, dwarfs surrounding structures - under the supervision of climbing experts.
During his mammoth on-air stint a week ago, the presenter had another high altitude experience by abseiling down the exterior of the ITV HQ, which is more than 20 floors.
Schofield's latest daredevil challenge is to be screened during ITV's Text Santa broadcast on December 19.
He told of the exhilaration of the challenge on Twitter, telling his followers: "When I let go with both hands on a thin girder it was a feeling like nothing else in my life."
And he added that the feeling was "better than I could ever have imagined".
