Leona Lewis admits to trashing a hotel room

She's more pop royalty than rock 'n' roll royalty, but Leona Lewis has admitted she has a rebellious streak - and even trashed a hotel room.

In an interview with the Metro, the former X Factor winner said a serious bout of road rage then led to room rage.

She told the paper: "Men always feel like they can take the micky out of women on the road and I don't like it.

"I smashed up [my] hotel room [because] I was angry. I gave a table a kick and I didn't actually think it would fall over. I [normally] do it so that it won't damage things but things got smashed. Champagne glasses broke. I had bad road rage."

And Leona, who is releasing an Xmas album called Christmas, With Love, is not the only surprising celebrity to smash up her hotel room.

Rod Stewart has admitted to trashing Holiday Inn rooms in his youth.

The singer says he messed up other hotel rooms on the road, but chose to take his wild ways out on Holiday Inns in particular, because they didn't 'respect' him.

He told the Mirror: "It seems foolish now, but we did it is because, especially in the Holiday Inns, we'd get no respect.

"They didn't want to serve us, so we took our revenge.

"We'd empty rooms, stick furniture in the lift and send it to the lobby. I did it in Perth in the 80s and got a £7,000 bill."

And even Cat Deeley has admitted to a bit of hotel room bashing in her time.

She revealed her rock 'n' roll side in an interview with Esquire magazine, saying: "All I'll say is that it was in the States, I wasn't alone, we left in the middle of the night and the room was trashed.

"I did a runner. I never dared check out or look at the bill to see how much extra they'd charged. That's all I'm admitting."
