This £2 cleaning trick leaves your oven sparkling and you don't even need to scrub
Many hours have been spent leaning over an oven and getting a sweat on as you tirelessly try and scrub the hardened grease and grime. The appliance can be notoriously difficult to clean with oil splatters being baked into its walls often requiring some heavy-duty chemicals to try and get them sparkling.
All those calories spent scrubbing away could be saved with one simple cleaning item coming to the rescue giving you a much easier time and making cleaning the oven a much less scary task. The miracle ingredient - soda crystals.
The simple cleaner is a natural, white, odourless, water-soluble salt, similar to baking soda, that's alkaline nature is tough on dirt helping to lift heavy stains off your oven. Unlike some bigger brand oven cleaners the crystals won't burst your bank - only costing £2 for a one kilogram bag that will last many cleaning sessions.

Because of its high PH the salts will carefully lift off the stains without having to be viciously rubbed into the ovens surface, which means it only takes a few minutes to dislodge any grime. Once left to clean it simply needs a quick wipe and your oven will be looking as good as new.
Angelin, an expert from Bond Cleaning in Sunshine Coast, said: "Green cleaning is much more than white vinegar, baking soda, or castile soap. Homeowners can upgrade their DIY cleaning caddy by adding safe and super-effective soda crystals or washing soda. This is a great alternative to store-bought cleaning products."
To use the soda crystals on your oven all you have to do is mix the salt and water into a thick paste and apply onto the bottom, sides and oven door. Leave the mixture to work its magic for around 20 mins then wipe off with a scrubbing brush or sponge.
Be careful not to apply the mixture to any heating element or fan as it could cause damage to your oven. When applying the mixture be careful to avoid contact with your skin as its alkaline nature could be an irritant to your skin.
Finally make sure the oven is fully dry with no remnants of the mixture before using again.
