18 must-see looks from the Oscar's red carpet – from Halle Berry to Cynthia Erivo
The award shows to end all award shows officially took place on Sunday, 2 March over in Los Angeles, and the stars were shining their biggest and brightest on stage, off stage and most importantly, on the red carpet.
It was a night of big moments: from Mikey Madison taking home the top award for Best Actress in the film Anora (which also won Best Picture) to Zoe Saldaña final sweep in the Best Supporting Actress category.
But let's be real, what we're all waiting for comes earlier in the night when celebs take to the red carpet in their best looks. There was some standout trends that popped up consistently over the evening: bold chilli-red was inescapable as we spotted it on Raye, Storm Reid, Queen Latifah and Marissa Bode; also silver is the metal of the moment a la Halle Berry and Demi Moore. However the penultimate trend to try following the awards is undoubtedly old-Hollywood glamour, the carpet was covered with vintage-style dresses, old-school waves and sultry silhouettes.
There are almost too many good styles to choose from, but here's our pick of the best-dressed celebs at the Oscar Academy Awards 2025.

In a stunning, plunging and glittering gown from Giorgio Armani, Demi looks a vision as she received a Best Actress nomination for her role in The Substance.
