Zoe Ball has been celebrating the end of her stint on BBC Radio 2 with a festive trip to New York City. The 54 year old radio presenter was joined by her rarely-seen daughter, Nellie, and son, Woody, for a day of ice skating and city exploration. Zoe, who recently stepped down from her role as the lead presenter of the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show, looked overjoyed as she held onto her daughter's hand on the ice.

Meanwhile, Woody confidently skated ahead, snapping a selfie with his family in the background. Woody had been eagerly awaiting his family's arrival in New York, sharing updates on Instagram before they landed. He first announced: "My mum and sister just landed." He then posted a picture looking up at the sky, captioning it "It's snowing."

This was followed by a cosy snap of Zoe and Nellie in bed, with the caption "Family safe and sound." The trip signifies the beginning of a new chapter for Zoe, who will no longer have to wake up early for her radio show. The broadcaster bid an emotional farewell to her loyal listeners during her final BBC Radio 2 breakfast show earlier this week. The last broadcast saw Zoe overwhelmed with emotion. Zoe expressed her gratitude to her loyal listeners for their unwavering support throughout the years, sharing heartfelt messages from fans that had brought her to tears.

As she kicked off the show, Zoe admitted the team was feeling sentimental: "We've had some tears already. We don't quite know what to do with ourselves this morning, do we? I've come in and I suddenly can't remember how to press the button." Meanwhile, another co-host confessed: "I wasn't sure which chair to sit in!"

Despite trying to keep it together, Zoe acknowledged the emotional charge in the air: "We're all pretending we're going to be OK, that the emotion isn't getting to us - but it's definitely getting to us. So hold tight! But Richie, so many nice comments yesterday - made me blub my eyes out!"

Kylie Minogue also sent a recorded message and thanked Zoe as she reminisced about their encounters over the last few years.

Zoe began presenting The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show almost six years ago in January 2019, taking over from Chris Evans. She took a break from hosting her breakfast show over the summer and returned in September. Then in November, she revealed that after six wonderful years and countless early mornings, it was time to “step away from the very early mornings and focus on family”.
