Yara Shahidi shares throwback pic of her modelling as Tinker Bell as a child with the cutest Afro puff
This is one of the most magical things I've seen on the internet this year. We've been obsessing over all content of Yara Shahidi starring as Tinker Bell in Disney's live action movie, Peter Pan & Wendy. Particularly when hair stylist Nikki Nelms is giving us better and better looks as her braided and textured take on the iconic Tinker Bell bun. I mean, have you seen the Tinker Bell doll? It sold out on pre-release.
But this, this has blown our tiny minds. This is not Yara's first star turn as the beloved fairy sidekick. Having grown up in the entertainment biz, it wasn't just acting, the youngster did modelling too and just look at this... destiny. Yara actually modelled for an official Tinker Bell costume as a child. Mind Blown.
She posted the snap in a gallery with a picture of her now with said sold out doll, and it could easily be a doll of little Yara. Especially with that adorable Afro puff looking a lot like the doll's bun.
The star captioned the post: "Funny how time flies 🧚🏽♂️ #Tinkerbell". A remark reminding us that she went to Harvard; so many layers. "Pretty and witty" as my dad likes to say.
If all this foreshadowing and full circle-ness wasn't enough, just look at what's written on the costume's packaging: "A fairy tale come true." I have no words.
This wasn't high on my list for Disney live action excitement (sorry Little Mermaid is out this year, come on), but Yara has made this movie.
