Yamaha: Nate Thrasher Qualifying Crash Results in Hematoma On Leg

On returning to the gate, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing's 250SMX rider Nate Thrasher had a DNF-DNS result from the first SuperMotocross Playoffs for Round 1. Yamaha provided an update stating that Trasher's crash earlier in the day resulted in a hematoma on his leg that caused his day to end abruptly. Nate raced the first 250SMX moto but withdrew four laps in.

This was Nate's first ride back from broken collarbone surgery after Hangtown's AMA Pro Motocross Championship round.

Thrasher qualified for the SMX Playoffs in the 20th spot and was the last qualified rider not to race the chaotic LCQs and guaranteed straight into the motos. Since Thrasher's injury resulted in a DNF first moto, and Cole Thompson (Team Solitare Yamaha) replaced his spot in the second moto. Nate would score 21st overall on the day.

“Unfortunately, Nate Thrasher crashed earlier in the day and tried to race but ultimately withdrew.

Unfortunately, it was a tough return to racing for Thrasher, who had a crash in qualifying, which resulted in a hematoma on his leg. The Tennessee rider lined up for the first moto but ultimately withdrew from the race. He will be evaluated during the week, and an update will follow.”
