X Factor legend engaged as she flashes huge ring after romantic proposal - as celebs pals congratulate her
The X Factor star Amelia Lily has announced that she is engaged - and revealed her stunning engagement ring. It comes after the singer recently celebrated her 30th birthday.
The star, 30, who shot to fame on the eighth series of The X Factor in 2011, shared the happy news on Instagram, sharing a sweet picture of her and her husband to be, Eddie McQueen, who is the son of late Scottish footballer Gordon McQueen. She also shared some close up pictures of her wearing her engagement ring and holding hands with her fiance. In the loved up selfie, the couple can be seen beaming with happiness, with Amelia proudly showing off her ring.
The TV personality also wrote alongside the picture: “MRS MCQUEEN TO BE!” Amelia’s celebrity pals were quick to send her their congratulations, too.

Geordie Shore stars Vicky Pattison said, "Congratulations gorgeous girl, while Chloe Ferry commented, "Congrats," followed by a heart emoji.
Fans were also excited to share the love, with one writing: “So, so happy for you both, you make a gorgeous couple. Bring on the wedding…” and another adding, “Congratulations beautiful!!!!!! So excited for you both!!!!!!!!!!! The best news EVER!!!!!!!!” Bethan Kershaw added, "Congratulations angel” and Abbie Holborn wrote, “Congratulations” with heart emojis.
Amelia's sister-in-law to be Hayley McQueen, who is known as a Sky Sports News presenter, welcomed the reality star to the family upon hearing of the engagement. She wrote: "Can’t tell you how excited we all are. Welcome to the family! The best news ever xx"

It’s been an exciting month for Amelia, who just celebrated her milestone 30th birthday, too. Sharing a photo of her, Eddie and her huge birthday cake last week, she said: “The best party with my nearest and dearest. Thank you to everyone that came along, thank you for my gifts and gorgeous messages. Most of all to my big lad Eddie, you totally spoilt me. My best friend. Thank you for making my 30th”
It appears that Amelia and fiance Eddie have been together for a year, with Amelia having recently celebrated their anniversary. Taking to Instagram to share a heartfelt selection of pictures of them both, Amelia said: “Happy Anniversary to my absolute soul mate! My ride or die, the love of my life. Eddie you are literally a legend, my legend. You are the best thing that ever happened to me, I feel like we’ve been together about 10 years (in a good way).”
She added: "Thank you for constantly making me laugh endless amounts and making me the happiest I’ve felt in a long time. You’re my best friend and I’m so lucky to have you.”
Amelia found fame in 2011, when she was a finalist on The X Factor, which was won by Little Mix. She’s since gone on to appear on different TV shows, from Celebrity Big Brother, where she was a runner up, to Geordie Shore, where she joined as a cast member in 2020.
Amelia also went on to star with Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry in their own spinoff series, Geordie Shore Hot Single Summer in 2021, which saw the two stars, who were single at the time, looking for love. Speaking exclusively to OK! about her love life at the time, Amelia revealed: “For me, personality is absolutely key. You could be an absolute God but if you don’t have banter, what’s the point?”
