Dubai will soon be home to the world's largest ferris wheel, looming over the city at a whopping 250m tall (820ft).

While international travel is still limited, future Ferris wheel passengers can expect stunning, 360-degree views of Dubai's famous skyline.

The giant wheel measures almost double the height of its UK counterpart, the London Eye, which stands at 135m, or 440ft, tall.

It also tips the scales at 25% more than the Eiffel Tower - weighing in at 9,000 tonnes, compared to the French attraction's 7,300 tonnes.

Ain Dubai, or the Dubai Eye, features 48 capsules, with a total seating capacity of 1,400 people, over double that of the London Eye which can seat 800 people.

Six additional VIP capsules will also include a private bar, with the capacity for fine dining for up to 40 people.

The Ain Dubai is located on Dubai's new Bluewaters Island - accessible from the popular, bustling Dubai Marina.

UAE holding company Meeras, responsible for the construction of Ain Dubai, said: "Standing at over 250 metres high, the structure is over 200 percent taller than the first ever Ferris wheel.
