With her new collection, Stacy London is done telling women 'what not to wear'
The TV host turned fashion designer wants shoppers to dress confidently — and comfortably — with classic buys from QVC.
People of a certain age will no doubt remember Stacy London and Clinton Kelly's fashion critiques on TLC's What Not To Wear. Each week, the duo zeroed in on a seemingly unsuspecting "fashion victim," pointed out problems with their wardrobe and personal style, and then spent the next hour transforming their look. The long-running show ended in 2013, but in the years that followed, London remained a familiar face, doling out fashion advice on television and the 'net.

Today, London is taking a different approach to style. Rather than telling women what they shouldn't wear, London is using her new QVC collection to make getting dressed easy — and positive. "As I got into my 40s and then 50s, I wanted to stop telling women what not to wear and to give them something they could wear to be confident yet still comfortable, to be able to show up for themselves. When you look good, you feel good," London told Yahoo.
Just in time for the fall fashion season, QVC's by Stacy London collection includes cool-weather must-haves like trousers, sweaters and blazers in rich shades of blue, green and red. One standout is the matching brocade pant and blazer, a set that London says is among her favorite pieces. It would be perfect for folks who don't want to wear a dress to a holiday party. There are also everyday styles that will be plenty useful whether you're working at the office or running errands on the weekend — check some of them out below.
This top may look plain and simple, but that's because it's meant to be adorned with extras in the by Stacy London collection like this beaded collar and cuff set. "The addables [collars, cuffs and other elements that can easily be unbuttoned and swapped] allow you to get more out of your wardrobe, and to mix and match," London explained. "And the ponte pieces have stretch and can be machine-washed."
A step above your ordinary cardi, this vibrant style features buttons that look like little pearls. In addition to teal, it's available in petal pink and aqua blue up to size 3X. You can wear this sweater with trousers or a pencil skirt, or use it to add a pop of color to your go-to black dress.
Anyone who watched What Not To Wear learned from London herself that a crisp white button-down is a closet essential. Available in sizes XXS-3X, this piece already has 4.5 stars from shoppers. One happy customer called it an "awesome blouse [that is] well-made and worth the money."
Faux leather leggings are tricky to pull off, but these trousers? So much more forgiving! If you already own several pairs of black pants, consider grabbing these in green or tan to mix things up. As for maintenance, these babies just need to be hand-washed, no dry cleaning necessary!
Another fashion tip we all learned from London way back when? The power of a good blazer. Sure, a blazer works with a suit, but it has legs way beyond that. Pair it with jeans or even with leggings to give either option a little more polish. Black is classic when it comes to blazers, but this shawl-collar design also comes in bright pink and teal blue.
Trench coats are iconic, but they can also be a little bit, well, boring. Add a little leopard detail and voila — you've got a statement jacket for brisk fall days and chilly autumn nights. If animal print isn't your thing, you'll be glad to know that part is removable and you can wear the sleeveless trench on its own.
