Winnipeg Jets' Brenden Dillon gets re-married to wife 3 years after Vancouver wedding
The Surrey, B.C.-born hockey star and his wife first tied the knot in Vancouver in November 2020.
Canadian NHL star Brenden Dillon is celebrating his second time getting married to his wife.
The Winnipeg Jets defenceman and his spouse, Emma Dillon, tied their second knot in Aspen, Colo., nearly three years after they first said "I do" in November 2020 in Vancouver.
Washington Capitals right winger T.J. Oshie and his wife, Lauren, were among many guests who attended, the latter of whom took to Instagram to share several photos from the event.
"We love you, Emma and Brenden," Lauren captioned her latest post, which included several group photos along with a video of Brenden dipping his wife and planting a kiss on her lips.
Other players for the Washington Capitals — which Brenden played for before being acquired by the Jets in July 2021 — also attended the wedding. That included Toronto-born right winger Tom Wilson, defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk, forward Nic Dowd and defenseman Nick Jensen.
Jensen's wife, Jenner, also took to social media to share some photos from the weekend wedding.
"Celebrating Emma and Brenden," she captioned her post, which included several couple's photos with her spouse and various group shots.
Brenden and Emma decided to keep their first wedding in Vancouver intimate due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but having a big wedding was still a goal for the duo.
"Postponing our wedding was beyond hard. We can't wait for the day when COVID won't be able to take that big dreamy wedding away from us," Emma captioned a post made on Nov. 9, 2020. "Until then, we'll start our lives as husband and wife!"
Emma noted in her post that they didn't want to spend a lot of money on that first elopement in 2020, since a larger wedding was still in the works for a future date.
She shared that she bought her gown — a long-sleeve silk dress with a plunging neckline — on ASOS. Her veil was from Etsy, she saved "hundreds of dollars" by doing her own flowers and their venue was "free." She also styled her own hair and did her own makeup.

The couple got engaged in 2019 and had planned to have their wedding on Aug. 1 before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, according to NBC Sports Washington.
Still, people poured their love for the then-newlyweds in the comments of her post that year.
"You look beautiful! Congratulations to you both!" one person wrote.
"You both look like a dream, congrats," shared another person.
"What an amazing job. So beautiful," an Instagram user penned.
"Congrats to you and Brendan! You look stunning and the flowers are beautiful!" another chimed in.
Speaking to The Athletic in 2021, Brenden, who's from Surrey, B.C., noted that their first wedding only had the two of them in attendance.
"It was just the two of us that kind of did our own thing. She's American, I'm Canadian, so we were in Vancouver in our offseason residence," he shared.
"The formal thing is planned but it didn't work out with everything going on in the world. We're planning to have a bigger kind of party over the next year or two but I'm not in charge of those plans. I'm just glad I'm invited."
