Why people think the Pakistan tour is a clue Kate Middleton is pregnant again

Kate Middleton is currently on a royal tour of Pakistan with husband Prince William and - what do you know! - she's been hit with pregnancy rumours again.

The speculation the Duchess of Cambridge might be pregnant with her fourth child mainly stems from an unusual decision made by the couple regarding their overseas tour.

It's typical for senior members of the royal family to travel alongside a large entourage during official duties abroad. On their royal tour of Pakistan, Hello! reports William and Kate have their private secretaries, Simon Case and Catherine Quinn, with them - as well as communications secretary Christian Jones, four members of the communication team, two assistant private secretaries, two programme coordinators, a PA, and a hairdresser accompanying them.

But there's one extra member of the team who doesn't usually accompany the Cambridges on tour: their doctor.

Royal correspondent Rebecca English tweeted earlier this week: "The couple have also, for the first time, brought with them a tour doctor. He’s a friend of William’s from his days with East Anglia Air Ambulance."

The expert added that, normally, only the Queen and the Prince of Wales take a medic with them on trips overseas. So, naturally, it's led to questions about why the doctor might be necessary for the Cambridges.

"She's pregnant again," wrote one Twitter follower in response. "Here come the pregnancy rumours..." replied another.

But there could be another reason for the doctor's attendance on the trip - one that's totally unrelated to Kate Middleton's uterus. The trip to Pakistan has been described as the "most complex tour undertaken by the couple to date", given the safety risks it brings.

Pakistan, while having improved its security situation over the past few years, is still deemed a destination unsafe for unnecessary travel by the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Considering the possible threat of terror and natural disasters, it would make total sense to bring along a trusted doctor just in case. So perhaps that's the real reason he's been invited to travel with them.

The presence of the doctor is not the only thing that makes people suspect Kate Middleton and Prince William might be expecting a fourth Baby Cambridge, however. A photograph uploaded on the couple's Instagram account last night also got tongues wagging.

Despite the fact that, in the picture, Kate's abdomen looks just as flat as it ever does, some of the Duke and Duchess' followers think they've spotted the subtle curve of a tiny baby bump under her gorgeous dark green, sequin, Jenny Packham dress. And the comments have came flooding in.

"Baby bump alert?" posted one person. "Duchess Kate looks pregnant," commented another, adding a heart eye emoji.

"That isn't another tiny baby bump, is it?", and so on, and so on.

I'm not sure exactly what they're seeing, but I don't think this picture of Kate Middleton screams pregnant. And plenty of @KensingtonRoyal followers agree.

"I think it’s just the way she’s standing. In the video with the same outfit her tummy looks flat as a pancake!" reasoned one person. "Come on, people! It’s probably just the lighting. Maybe she just ate something, is bloated or taking a deep breath. If anything, his bump looks bigger than hers," quipped someone else.

So, is it possible that Kate is pregnant again? From where we're standing it seems unlikely, based on the fact we know the Duchess has suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum - or severe, debilitating morning sickness - in previous pregnancies. It was so bad with Prince Louis that it prevented her from attending Prince George's first day at school. So if Kate were in the early stages of another pregnancy, it's perhaps unlikely she'd be on a royal tour.

Only time will tell...
