Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have officially touched down in Colombia, commencing their tour of the country to promote mental health for young people, and raising awareness on combating cyberbullying.

This marks the Sussexes' first time in the South American country, where they have already begun participating in several events, as part of their expected four-day working visit.

Kicking off day one, Harry and Meghan were welcomed by the Vice President Francia Márquez and her husband, Rafael Yerney Pinillo. While at Márquez's house, they all drank traditional coffee, tea, and traditional Colombian cheese bread called pan de bono, as well as exchanging gifts. Markle looked elegant in a navy two-piece summer suit set from Victoria Beard for the occasion.

Per Harper's Bazaar, the Vice President expressed her admiration for the late Princess Diana and how the couple shared the same ideals as her on working towards a safer digital future and mental health landscape.

Afterwards, the Sussexes took part in a summit on internet safety. Experts, activists and community members came together together for the Responsible Digital Future conference, whereby youth and social leaders spoke on how they can all work together to improve cybersecurity.

Today, it is expected that they will meet again with Vice President Márquez, who will host a luncheon, as well as taking part in a meeting with Colombia's Invictus Games competitors and gather with students to discuss the importance of mental health in education.

Over the next few days, they will also visit the Colombian cities of Cartagena and Cali. The couple's timely visit comes ahead of the inaugural World Ministerial Conference on the Elimination of Violence Against Children, which the country will host in November, a topic which is close to the pair's hearts and a key focus of their non-profit organisation, the Archewell Foundation.
