Meghan Markle may be the first royal to break this wedding tradition

Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, are set to get married on May 19th of this year — and although it’s no secret the gorgeous actress has broken a number of unwritten royal traditions over the course of their year-and-a-half whirlwind courtship (including this royal fashion faux-pas during the engagement announcement) — she may break tradition again, this time at her wedding.

A source close to Harry and Meghan told Us Weekly that Markle wants her mom, Doria Ragland, to walk her down the aisle and give her away instead of her father, Thomas Markle.

“I’ve heard that Meghan wants her mother to walk her down the aisle, which would be a sweet moment,”  the source told Us. “With the wedding, they both want to do things their way. While they will always be mindful of traditions and the views of their elders, the day is ultimately about them and what they want to do.”

How romantic!
