Who is Rihanna's boyfriend A$AP Rocky?

As pop mega-star Rihanna reveals she is pregnant for the first time, many fans are keen to know more about A$AP Rocky, her partner and the baby's father.
While RiRi is a billionaire and global icon, having sold more than 60 million albums worldwide and is the top-selling digital artist of all time, boyfriend A$AP Rocky is less well-known on this side of the pond.
Real name Rakim Athelaston Mayers, A$AP Rocky is a rapper and record producer from New York, and is part of the hip-hop collective A$AP Mob.

Born in Manhattan you could say music was his destiny - both he and his sister Erika were named after hip-hop legends Eric B & Rakim.
He started rapping aged just nine, but tragedy hit the family when his father was jailed in connection with drugs when Rocky was just 12, and his older brother was killed the following year. The star has talked about time living in shelters with his mum and sister - and revealed that he ended up selling drugs to survive.
By, 15 he was selling crack and cannabis and eventually served two weeks in jail for drug offences in 2004. His cellmate was the future rapper Casanova, who inspired him to take his own talent more seriously.
He self-released two singles Peso and Purple Swag in 2011 which both became street hits, garnering him interest from record labels.
His debut album in 2013, Long.Live.A$AP received critical acclaim and in the same year he was first linked with Rihanna when he joined her on her Diamonds World Tour.

Rumours about whether Rihanna, 33, and Rocky were a couple circulated for years, with the rapper finally confirming their romance last year, describing her as the "love of his life".
He said: "She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones. I think when you know, you know. She's the one."
He also added that his record All Smiles was inspired by Rihanna.
The couple made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala in September last year, and even then fans were speculating that she may be pregnant as she wore a baggy outfit.
But after she revealed her baby bump in spectacular style in New York this week, fans have been left in no doubt.

Now, speculation is around when the superstar baby is due - and whether it's a boy or a girl.
Rihanna's choice of a pink vintage Chanel fur coat to reveal her baby bump had fans sure she was hinting it was a baby girl.
"Rihanna told us she's having a girl without telling us. Peep the pink," one social media user noted as the news broke on Monday.
"Why do I feel like the pink coat indicates that she's having a mini her, just tell us you're having a girl Riri," another fan wrote.
