According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a MILF is defined as a “sexually attractive older woman, typically one who has children.”

But we best know it as “mother I’d like to f*ck” from the 90s.

Whether you consider it personally flattering or not, it isn’t exactly the most respectful term out there, with some women suggesting an update to the term is long overdue.

And perhaps one that adds a little bit of fun to the scenario.

Cue the WHIP: a “woman who is hot, intelligent and in her prime.”

Coined by writer Bibi Lynch on This Morning, she says it’s the “smarter” alternative to “cougar”.

“Cougar to me is very predatory, and a bit sly and a bit creepy,” 51-year-old Lynch explained.

“Also with ‘cougar,’ the men are prey – to me, WHIPs felt funnier, smarter, and sexier.”

When asked if she thinks the ‘cougar’ label should be ditched altogether, she responded: “I don’t think there needs to be a label, but it’s better than labels that have been.”

It’s a word that will be welcomed by the likes of French First Lady Brigitte Macron who has recently received criticism for being 24 years older than her husband. Macron may be 64 but she is most definitely in her prime.

All hail the WHIPs.
