Baked oats have become all the rage for elevating your regular breakfast, but there’s a recipe that’s caught food fans’ eyes that incorporates flavours of a classic British dessert. TikTok creator Georgina Burgess shared the ultimate comfort food breakfast recipe, marrying baked oats with sticky toffee pudding.
Packed with medjool dates and bananas, and topped with a gooey caramel sauce, Georgina’s recipe has become a hit with foodies. In the video, she said: “These are sticky toffee baked oats, and they might just be one of the best things I’ve ever made. They’re rich, decadent and fudgy and seriously worth getting out of bed for.”
Georginia also said they are ‘toddler-approved’, so all the family will love them. To make the recipe even simpler, the oats can be whizzed up in a blender to save time on prep.

Sticky toffee baked oats
Ingredients
Baked Oats
2 large ripe bananas
100g medjool dates (pitted weight), soaked and then drained
230g oats
300ml milk of choice
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
1 tsp baking powder
2-3 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
Caramel Sauce Topping
5 tbsp smooth almond butter
3 tbsp milk of choice such as oat, soya, almond
3 tbsp maple syrup or syrup of choice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ tbsp coconut oil, melted
Salt
Method
Preheat the oven to 180℃ and grease an 8×8" (or similar sized) square tin.
Add the soaked and drained dates to a blender along with the milk, blending until smooth. Add the bananas to a large bowl and mash them well. Then add the milky date mixture and the rest of the baked oats ingredients and mix well.
If you prefer some texture, you can add some extra chopped dates to the mix. Pour into the greased tin and place in the oven to bake for around 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
While it's cooking, make the caramel sauce topping by stirring all the ingredients together in a small bowl until smooth.
Once cooked, remove the baked oats from the oven and poke a few holes in the top with a skewer. Pour the caramel sauce all over the top of the baked oats.
Leave to cool for a while before slicing into six portions. Then tuck in. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat before serving in the microwave.
