Nomadland won the big categories at the 2021 Academy Awards, scooping up the Oscars for Best Picture and Best Actress for Frances McDormand. Here's how to watch it online in the UK.

As well as Promising Young Woman, there have been some clear leaders of the pack this award season. From Minari to Judas and the Black Messiah (Daniel Kaluuya won the category for Best Supporting Actor). Also taking centre stage is Nomadland.

The film stars Frances McDormand from Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Fargo and Burn After Reading as the leading role, who scooped up the Best Actress category.

In her acceptance speech, Frances said, "I have no words. My voice is in my sword. We know the sword is our work and I like work. Thank you for knowing that and thanks for this."

It was her third win in the category - she won in 2018 for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and in 1996 for Fargo.

The official Nomadland synopsis reads:

"Following the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, Fern (Frances McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the road exploring a life outside of conventional society as a modern-day nomad. The third feature film from director Chloé Zhao, NOMADLAND features real nomads Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells as Fern’s mentors and comrades in her exploration through the vast landscape of the American West."
