Where is the third season of 'The White Lotus' filmed?
The critically acclaimed series The White Lotus finally returns for its much anticipated third season, with the juicy satire of the wealthy hotel chain welcoming a new group of hyper privileged but badly behaved guests to their resort in Thailand.
The trailer for the series, written by Mike White, sees the new mega star cast (featuring Parker Posey, Carrie Coon and Leslie Bibb amongst other A-Listers) told “What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand” – so we can expect more salacious exploits and scandal as the eight-part season progresses.
But while we watch The White Lotus for the skewering of the super-rich, the spectacular backdrops that make up the fictional resort also make us ponder whether we could venture out to an exotic clime and stay at a similar hotel. And it would appear we’re in luck, with one of the backdrops of season three available to be booked (should you have the substantial spending power, that is).
The setting of the third season of The White Lotus is the Villa Jacinta on the island of Ko Samui, which resides just off the east coast of the country. Perched atop one of the highest points of the Samujana estate, this eight-bedroom villa boasts panoramic views across the Gulf of Thailand. But luxury doesn't just stop at the awe-inspiring surroundings; with glass walls, a clean, bright white palate and unique Cubist design, it's little wonder the villa was chosen to be a backdrop for The White Lotus.
It's not just the modern designs and interiors that make the Villa Jacinta a must-see. The spot is also home to a series of exquisite interior gardens, which can be admired from the villa’s numerous private balconies, two infinity pools or rooftop terrace.
Naturally, the Villa Jacinta, with onsite facilities also including a dedicated concierge and 24 hour security, will set you back more than a pretty penny. During off-season, one night will set you back £1822. In April, this bumps up to £2186 a night.
