Where Nativity! child stars are now - from Britain's Got Talent finalist to Cameron Diaz flirt

Thanks to the hilarious storyline, catchy songs and of course, the charming young cast, Nativity! quickly became a modern Christmas classic after it landed on our screens in 2009. To recap, the film follows miserable primary school teacher Mr Maddens (Martin Freeman) who tells a white lie that a Hollywood producer wants to turn his class' nativity play into a full scale production.

After the immature yet enthusiastic Mr Poppy (Marc Wootton) overhears it, he spreads the rumour around the school which excites the kids no end. But now, almost a decade and a half after the film first aired, the child cast are all grown up. From Britain's Got Talent stars to TikTok sensations, let's take a look at where the Nativity! kids are today...

Ben Wilby - Bob

Ben's character Bob was one of the film's favourites. No doubt down to his iconic one liners and hysterical dance moves, the young actor was only seven years old when he landed the role. However, the now 22 year old had already beaten the odds prior to starring in Nativity! after doctors warned his parents that he may never walk or talk again after a nine hour brain surgery.

When Ben was only two, he was diagnosed with a birth defect, Craniosynostosis - where the bones in a baby's skull join together too early. Thankfully, the operation was a success and the youngster went on to join a dance school to help his balance and improve his strength.

During his time at the dance school, Ben went on to win a slew of trophies, including the title of European Freestyle Champion. Following this, of course, we all know that Ben went to star in the first Nativity! film. But he also took part in the two sequels, Danger in the Manger and Dude, Where's My Donkey?

Outside of his Nativity! success, Ben proved himself to be quite the journalist, after he interviewed Hollywood A lister Cameron Diaz in 2014. A young Ben even tried his luck to get Cameron's number, cheekily asking: "I've lost my number, so can I have yours?"

Elsewhere, Ben has had TV roles in Father Brown and Cuckoo, and is also pretty much a big deal on TikTok. He has over 80K followers and almost half a million likes on the platform.

Cadi landed the part of Crystal in the Nativity! films after she was picked up by an agency who were looking for confident kids who could sing and dance. Her role in the nativity play was the star, and many will remember her adorable costume. The 24 year old graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in July 2024.

She also has 12.8K followers on TikTok and almost half a million likes, where she's posted a few throwbacks of her Nativity! days.

Jake Pratt - Alfie

Fans will remember Jake's character Alfie fighting with fellow pupil Oli about who will play Joseph in the first Nativity! film. The 28 year old actor from Scarborough had already found fame prior to the movie, after he appeared on Britain's Got Talent flexing his skills as a comedian.

Jake managed to please the judges at the auditions and was put through to the semi finals last minute. However, his performance didn't go to plan and Simon Cowell buzzed him off.

Despite this, Jake has had his own success post BGT and Nativity! and has landed plenty of West End jobs, from Billy Elliot the Musical where he played Michael to Matilda the Musical, where he played Tommy. Plus, Jake has also worked as a voice over artist on CBeebies and Disney cartoons. He graduated from Leeds University in 2018 and is engaged to long-term girlfriend, Olivia Rooks.

Krysta Hyatt played Becky, however, before finding fame on Nativity! the young actor had also made an impression on the Britain's Got Talent judges when she was just nine years old. Alongside her best friend Charlie Dixon - who also had a minor role in the film as an Oakmoor student - Krysta was one half of the dance duo Cheeky Monkeys.

The pair sailed through to the 2008 BGT finals, but lost out on the big prize to George Sampson. While Krysta and Charlie's success took them all the way to New York to appear on Maury Povich's World's Most Talented Kids, the dancing duo reportedly called it quits in 2011.

These days - and like some of her fellow cast mates - Krysta also has a respectable TikTok following of 17.5K. There, she posts plenty of travel content, fashion moments and the occasional Nativity! throwback.

Sydney Isitt-Ager - Sadie

For those who don't know, Sydney's mum, Debbie Isitt actually wrote and directed the Nativity! series. Sydney herself starred as Sadie, and put on a compelling performance when she confided in Mr Madden about her stage fright.

But while Sydney's character may have been shy, it's a different story entirely for the actor, who has since had a successful performing arts career.

The 25 year old has appeared in Nativity! the Musical, So Lucky Musical and Netflix's Mistletoe Farm, and has an impressive social media following. Boasting almost 30K followers on TikTok, Sydney often post rehearsal videos, gym sessions and 'a day in the life' footage.

Tom McGarrity - Zack

Fans will remember Tom's character Jack being likened to St Bernadette's version of Zac Efron by Mr Poppy in the film. While the young actor didn't end up becoming a Hollywood star, he has been pretty successful in his career post Nativity! As an adult, Tom was a cruise ship performer, and has been lucky enough to sail around the world thanks to his job.

From trips to Australia, San Francisco, Norway, and South Africa, Tom was also promoted to Entertainment Manager in 2024, which will see him planning plenty of shows and performances onboard cruises. He also popped the question to his girlfriend back in August last year and the pair tied the knot in September 2024.
