What's with the rumours about an It Ends With Us press tour feud?

We all remember the Don't Worry Darling press tour, which was shrouded with speculation around a rumoured feud between Florence Pugh and Olivia Wilde. Now, the internet is wondering whether something is going on between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni fromIt Ends With Us. So let's unpack exactly what's going on, shall we?

Justin Baldoni has been praising Blake Lively in interviews

Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK, Justin praised Blake's ability to bring Lily Bloom to life, and the way she worked on set as both a lead actress and producer. "Blake had amazing ideas [on set], and was very hands on with the choreography of it. Honestly, there were many instances on set where I let the women figure it out, and I took a step back, and jumped in more as an actor. We had a three hour meeting, and by the end of it, I knew she was Lily."

Speaking on the Today show, he added, "I think she’s best known as an actress, and, of course, she’s a fashion icon, but she is so much more than that. She is a dynamic creative. She had her hands in every part of this production, and everything she touched made better."

While Blake is a producer on It Ends With Us, Justin was the director, but fans have speculated about whether Justin felt put out by her husband Ryan Reynolds writing a scene in the movie.

"The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it," Blake told E! News. "Nobody knows that but you now. We help each other. He works on everything I do. I work on everything he does. So his wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his."

The rest of the cast don't follow Justin on Instagram

Blake Lively, the book's author Colleen Hoover, nor the rest of the cast like Jenny Slate and Brandon Sklenar, follow Baldoni on Instagram. He does follow them. Jenny Slate, who plays Justin's on-screen sister Allyse, also redirected a question about what it was like to act alongside and be directed by Justin, instead talking about how she's not sure she has capacity to do something similar:

There's also speculation that this is all just a big PR stunt, with Ryan Reynolds trying to turn It Ends With Us and Deadpool & Wolverine into a Barbiehiemer style situation, considering the fact he jumped into an interview with Brandon Sklenar, and Hugh Jackman (who stars alongside Ryan in the Marvel film) walked the red carpet.

As pop culture TikToker Arianna Lillie put it: “And I’m not saying that Blake Lively has specifically been problematic, but I knew something was up the second I heard that Ryan Reynolds was coming in and rewriting scenes of a movie that Justin Baldoni is not only starring in, but also directing, and is the whole reason this project is happening.”

She continued, "Justin Baldoni bought the rights to the book and approached Blake Lively about being in the movie, and yet I feel like Ryan Reynolds has done more PR for this movie than Justin himself. Like this whole interview that he did with Brandon, who played Atlas in the movie...

"And this whole [trying to make Deadpool and It Ends With Us] the next Barbenheimer. It seems like Justin is getting pushed out of this whole situation, which is honestly kind of sad because he was most excited about this whole thing from the start.”
