I Went to the Grammys and Stayed at the Chic Conrad Los Angeles Hotel

As an entertainment journalist (and Florida native who loves sunshine and a good beach), I've been to Los Angeles a few times over the years. I'm usually running around the City of Angels for work, awards shows, and conferences, and my trip this past month was no different. I was back on the West Coast for a milestone career moment: I'd be reporting live from the Grammys red carpet for the first time.
Of course, I had a bit of anxiety when I realized I had to book a hotel room amid the devastating fires that took the community by storm—but I looked into my Hilton Honors account and found a place right by the Crypto.com Arena, where the iconic awards show was set to take place. While I only touched down for two days, it was important to me that the hotel I stayed in was giving back to LA residents who were affected by the fires, and sure enough, the Conrad Los Angeles—a gorgeous property in the heart of DTLA—was offering discounts on rooms for displaced individuals. It was a no-brainer.
With all this in mind, keep scrolling for my no-frills review on the Conrad Los Angeles, which served as a temporary home for me during my stay, and continues to do so for others with Hilton's wildfire relief efforts.

THE FIRST IMPRESSIONS
When I hopped off the plane at LAX and headed downtown to the Conrad Los Angeles, it took me a moment to find the entrance. It was a bit confusing because of where my driver dropped me off (on Grand Avenue), but I snooped around for signage. It turns out the hotel is located inside The Grand LA complex, which I discovered when I eventually found an elevator that brought me directly to the lobby on the 10th floor.
The vibes of the lobby? Exquisite. One of the hotel's four dining spaces, The Beaudry Room, is the first thing you see before hitting the check-in area. Every staff member was kind and courteous, and they even have a concierge that's available via text all day long. So, whether I needed to confirm details before placing a breakfast order or had questions about the hotel's restaurants and amenities, there was always someone ready to help out...and I didn't even have to leave my bed.
As for my drop-off dilemma, the real cheat code is entering and exiting through the valet on 1st Street and sending a note to your driver! Shout out to one of the valet attendants who told me that the first time I left the hotel.
THE ROOMS
As soon as I stepped into my room—a Deluxe One King Bedroom on the 16th floor, in case you were wondering—I noticed I had a perfect view of the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Grand Avenue. It was a truly gorgeous room with a modern feel thanks to the multiple touch-screen controls that adjusted the blinds, lighting, and A/C. The comfy king-sized bed was set against a wall paneled with light oak, and an L-shaped sofa and coffee table were perfect for getting some work done.
While there was no closed-off closet, there was an open wardrobe with a seat and mirror. And as someone who uses a vanity on the daily, I was living for that detail. The bathroom was also spacious, complete with bomb lighting and Byredo's Mojave Ghost bath product line.
THE AMENITIES
Alright, time to break down the amenities at the Conrad Los Angeles, because dear reader, there are many. Free Wi-Fi is the bare minimum these days (and, yes, they have it), but this pet-friendly hotel also has a charging station for electric vehicles, a rooftop pool and bar, work rooms, and a fitness center with Pelotons.
However, I'm going to keep it 100 percent real: I like the finer things in life, and I love any excuse to get a facial. So, when I knew I was covering my first Grammys red carpet, I knew I had to hit up the spa at the Conrad Los Angeles and indulge a bit. The hotel offers nine (!!!) types of facials and other services like full body massages and cryotherapy. There's also a locker room with sinks, showers, infrared saunas, and vanities, to recharge and get ready.
I went in for the contour method facial, which has a $300 price point and exclusively uses Augustinus Bader products. Honestly, I'd save my coins to experience it all over again. My esthetician, Lenka, was gentle and considerate of my skin concerns and goals. She even adjusted the lighting, temperature, and music in the room to make sure everything was how I liked it...and she fully delivered! My skin has never looked or felt better, and I was still glowing almost a week later.
THE FOOD AND BEV
I was balling on a budget this time around, so I didn't have time to check out all of the restaurants and bars on the property. There are four in total, including a poolside rooftop eatery called Airlight, a swanky rooftop bar called Alto, the aforementioned lobby bar, the Beaudry Room, plus San Laurel, which has a Michelin star rating.
On Grammys Sunday, I did treat myself to some room service from San Laurel, which came out to $50 for eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, and a cup of coffee. My total included a service charge, $6.50 delivery fee, and an automatic 18 percent gratuity—it was a little pricey for a standard breakfast, in my opinion, but if you try any of their fancier or more unique offerings, I'm sure it's totally worth it.
THE BOTTOM LINE
The Conrad Los Angeles is a stunning hotel located in the heart of downtown L.A. Take it from me: It's a clean, safe, and convenient place to stay, and provides A+ service and luxury for a decent price point. My favorite part, though? When I got in after long days, it felt like coming home—which is always nice when you're constantly hustling and traveling for work.
TL;DR: the Conrad Los Angeles has a chic, cozy vibe that perfectly complemented my career-defining moment covering my first Grammys. Let's just say this has officially been added to my list of West Coast hotel recs.
