Wendy's $1 Frosty Deal Is Making Fun of McDonald's
The beef between McDonald's and Wendy's is simmering once again, and this time, it's to our benefit.
It's no secret that McDonald's broken ice cream machines have been a pain in the you-know-what for years. Well, to ensure that we all have a reliable option for our dessert fix, Wendy's is selling its Frosty for just $1 from now until September 30.
The latest deal from the fast food chain comes after Wendy's discovered some less than appetizing stats from McBroken.com, a website that tracks when McDonald's ice cream machines are broken.
"Using data from McBroken.com, Wendy's saw that dessert fans are faced with ice cream machine outages all too often and knew just what the fix was – a Frosty! Wendy's knows that when fans are craving a sweet treat, they deserve to have a reliable and delicious option," read a press release from Wendy's.
The "Ice Cream Machine Meltdowns" graphic created by Wendy's and McBroken shows that the cities suffering the most from frequent outages are Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas, New York, and Los Angeles. Additionally, ice cream machines are usually down during lunch and snack time, with outages lasting between two and three hours.
Thanks to Wendy's partnership with McBroken, in addition to using their map to see the McDonald's locations that have broken ice cream machines, you can also locate your nearest Wendy's—and pick up a small Frosty for only a buck.
