Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty Is Back — but Not for Long
Customers can still snag a Frosty Key Tag to get a free Jr. Frosty during every visit through Dec. 31, 2025
Wendy’s has sweet news for Frosty fans.
The chain’s beloved dessert flavor is back after being swapped for limited-time salted caramel Frosty.
The fast food restaurant announced the vanilla Frosty’s return on Monday, Jan. 13, but with an ominous message about its longevity. A statement from Wendy’s advises customers to grab the dessert “before it’s gone.” “Who knows what new Frosty flavor innovations are planned for 2025…,” the cryptic message continued.
The vanilla Frosty regularly gets the boot from Wendy’s menus and is replaced with limited-time flavors. The Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, a Spongebob Squarepants-inspired flavor, triple berry Frosty and orange dreamsicle Frosty all took turns in the spotlight in 2024.
Along with the flavor update on Jan. 13, Wendy’s emphasized a “hack” to scoring the comeback treat for free: the Frosty Key Tag.

The Frosty Key Tag is a $3 key tag entitling customers to one free Jr. Frosty every visit for the entirety of 2025. The physical or digital key tag, available for purchase through Feb. 15, allows guests to snag a freebie with every purchase compared to previous years when the key tag unlocked one free Frosty every day.
The free Frosty deal starts when guests have the tag and is redeemable through Dec. 31, 2025.
In stores and on the app, fans can add digital or physical tags when placing an order under the “Give Something Back” menu category. Customers can also buy physical key tags in bulk on the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption website. In both cases, Wendy’s gives 90% of every tag sold to the adoption foundation.
Wendy’s customers with a savory craving can score a 2 for $7 deal on four fan-favorite items through March 2. The bargain applies to the classic or spicy chicken sandwich, Dave’s Single and crispy or spicy 10-piece chicken nuggets.
Customers can claim the deal in stores nationwide or on the app. Fans just have to check out the “Meal Deals” section of the Wendy’s app, where they can select their two menu items.
