Wegmans Just Recalled Hummus Across 9 States Due to an Undeclared Allergen

If you recently purchased hummus from Wegmans, be advised that there has been a voluntary recall of Wegmans Harissa Hummus Topped With Harissa, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to undeclared sesame in the product because of a labeling error.
If you or someone in your household has a sesame allergy, you should not consume or serve the recalled product. Although there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions, those with allergies or sensitivities to sesame run the risk of serious reactions if they consume this product, including anaphylaxis.
The recalled hummus is sold in a 10.5-ounce plastic container with lot number 240239 or 240309 on the top, side, and bottom, and expiration date 03/19/2024 or 03/26/2024 on the side. The products were sold in select stores in Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia between January 29, 2024, and February 2, 2024.
What To Do If You Have the Recalled Products at Home
Check your fridge for the recalled product. You can return the product to a Wegmans store for a full refund. If you have any questions, you can contact Wegmans Food Markets at 1-855-934-3663, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.
