Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift breathed life into the double denim trend out and about in New York on 18 July. The songstress teamed a Madewell crop top with clashing black shorts by Ksubi. She accessorised the Canadian tux with a pair of Golden Goose trainers and a bag by Christian Louboutin. [Photo: Rex]

Don’t shoot the messenger but the Canadian tux is back. Case in point: Taylor Swift trialled double denim yesterday while out and about in New York and yes, we’re into it.

A divisive trend which garnered a place in pop culture history when Britney and Justin Timberlake graced the red carpet in co-ordinating looks back in 2001 – double denim has long divided critics.

But according to our Instagram feed, celebrities far and wide are reinventing the noughties get-up.

In the past few years, the trend has gained momentum with the likes of Rihanna and Zoë Kravitz casually rocking head-to-toe denim to run their errands.

Most recently, Hailey Baldwin stepped out with fiancé Justin Bieber in a heavily emblazoned co-ord by Versace while Bella Hadid is often papped in a denim jacket and matching jeans – finished with her signature half-moon sunnies.

Tempted to trial the trend? Look no further than the Insta pack for inspiration on how to wear the look this season.
