Watch this New Years Eve proposal steal the spotlight in Times Square!

The Times Square ball drop became a jaw-dropping experience for one New Year’s Eve reveler when her partner popped the question in spectacular style.

Garrett Sutton and Hayle Ayers, from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, were invited to New York by a sponsor on the pretense of having won a contest. However, it was all a ruse, and Garrett was in on the caper.

After an evening’s celebration at a swanky hotel, the couple joined the million or so partygoers in Times Square to await the midnight ball drop that signals the start of the New Year.

Standing in the sponsor's enclosure, Garrett and Hayle watched the New Year’s countdown on a giant mega screen that lit up the New York sky. But seconds after "Auld Lang Syne" rang out, Hayle got the shock of her life when Garrett appeared on the screen with a pre-recorded New Year’s message that took her breath away – “Hayle Ayers Will You Marry Me?”

As the ball dropped, so did his knee, and the rest was history.
