Disney+ viewers are all saying the same thing about new Santa Clauses series

It's November, which means it's finally socially acceptable to be excited for Christmas films and TV again, not like we've been ready since August or anything. And this festive season we're in for a treat as Tim Allen has reprised his role as Santa in The Santa Clauses.

16 years after the third movie in the series The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause came out, a new six-part special series sees the return of Scott Calvin this Christmas.

In the series as Santa approaches his 65th birthday, he reflects back on his life and realises he may want to give up his sleigh once and for all and live a normal life.

The official Disney synopsis reads:

"Scott Calvin is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realising that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole. With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole."

Fans of the original movies have already raced to watch the first two episodes, with many praising the show on social media.

One person tweeted: "#TheSantaClauses is so well done. I literally love this. This is how you do a 'reboot'."

And another said: " #TheSantaClauses is so so good. Such a wholesome series and the first two episodes were so nostalgic."

Another person described the show as "bittersweet" because of how odd it is to see Scott Calvin's eldest son Charlie, played by Eric Lloyd, grown up.

They said: "Growing up watching the Santa Clause movies and now watching the Santa Clauses is so bittersweet. Charlie’s grown up with a wife and kids?? Sarah didn’t remember Santa?? and @ofctimallen wtf do you mean retirement??"

The first two episodes of The Santa Clauses are available on Disney+ now, with the remaining four episodes being released each Wednesday in the lead up to to Christmas, with the season finale airing on 14th December.
