Charles and Queen Consort Camilla arrived in the German capital on Wednesday, where they were greeted by a twenty-one gun salute and a fly-past.They ended their first day in the European country with a State Banquet, where the Queen Consort looked so elegant in a black-and-white dress, while the King looked dapper in his suit.

The monarch has had a busy Thursday as he visited Tegel Airport to meet Ukrainian refugees who had recently arrived in the country. In one touching moment, the royal enjoyed a game of table football with some of the group.

He also referenced how his late mother, the Queen, had enjoyed the country, having paid five state visits to the nation during her reign.

"That my parents' 11-day tour of Germany should prove to be a pivotal moment in the reconciliation between our nations was, therefore, a matter of great personal significance to them both," he explained.

"My mother understood the immense achievement that reconciliation represented, and in returning to Germany time and again, she was determined to play her own part. It is, perhaps, for this reason that Her late Majesty won a particular place in the affection of the German people."
