Watch Brie Larson’s Emotional First Meeting With Jennifer Lopez at the 2024 Golden Globes
Actresses Jennifer Lopez and Brie Larson had a very sweet first meeting at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards caught on camera. While Larson was being interview by Entertainment Tonight, she spotted Lopez coming up the stairs behind her.
“Oh my god, I’m gonna cry,” Larson said while fanning herself. “I can’t deal with J.Lo.”
She wasn’t sure she would be able to stay composed while meeting Lopez, but ET’s reporter waved J.Lo over. She and Larson met, and Larson told Lopez, “You mean so much to me.” They then shared a hug.
“I’m such a huge fan,” Lopez replied.
“I saw Selena, and it made me wanna be an actor, and you’ve always meant so much to me,” Larson revealed through tears.
“Oh my god, don’t make me cry,” Lopez said with a smile, wiping a tear, too.
“I’ve been wanting to say that to you for a long time,” Larson admitted.

Larson was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television for her role of Elizabeth Zott in the miniseries Lessons in Chemistry at the Globes.
In November 2023, Larson spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the love story in Lessons in Chemistry.
“Part of my initial interest in this story is that love depictions are so sacred and important, and how they come to you, and why they come to you is part of the magic of this life,” she said. “It also means it’s very hard to grapple with.”
“It was so nice for me to be able to do something that’s loving and sweet, and not always talking about the darkest things that are happening in the world,” she continued, contrasting her character Elizabeth to Captain Marvel from The Marvels. “I think it’s a very sweet depiction of how to work with someone you love and the fact that their minds and their uniqueness and specificity and their love of science is what brings them together, I think, is very sweet.”
