Warwick Davis has made this first public appearance since announcing the heart-breaking news of his wife Samantha’s death, last month. The Star Wars star, 54, tragically lost his wife in March and after taking a few weeks to grieve privately with his family, released a statement to the press announcing her passing.

Now, two weeks on since that announcement, Warwick has made his first public appearance alongside his children Hollyoaks actress Annabelle, 27 and son Harrison, 21, as they visited St Barnabas Hospice in West Sussex.

The famous family made the visit on Friday May 3 and were visiting as part of a Feathers From Above appeal to help raise money for adults with life-limiting illnesses in need of palliative care.

Sharing a photo of the family together at the event, Annabelle wrote: “It was an honour to watch the #FeathersFromAbove take flight for @stbarnabashospice.A beautiful way to remember those we’ve lost whilst supporting the incredible work they do. Dedicate a feather to a loved one here, https://stbarnabashospice.co.uk/feathersfromabove.”

The Feathers From Above appeal is a huge installation made of around 1000 iron feathers crafted by hand, and offers supporters a unique but poignant way to remember their loved ones. The spectacular display will be held at Aubourn Hall and Gardens and with members of the public able to visit during day displays or smaller evening displays until May 17 2024.

Each welded feather costs £40 to engrave, with all of the proceeds from the sale going towards supporting the hospice continue it’s vital work for families in need, while also helping to keep the memory of a departed love one alive.

Following the poignant post and family photo shared online, Annabelle was inundated with messages of support and condolence, with the hospice itself also reaching out to the family to offer some kind words.

A second echoed: “Condolences to you and your family... sending love from Australia”

Before third fan added:… “Sending so much love and condolences to you and your family.”

St Barnabas Hospice then replied: “It was our privilege to have you there during such a difficult time. Thank you for supporting us.”

Samantha Davis sadly passed away on March 24, with her death immediately prompting an outpouring of condolences from fans as soon as the news broke. Much like her famous husband, Samantha was an actress herself and actually met Warwick while working together on his 1988 movie Willow.
