If You Want a Post-Credits Scene in 'Nosferatu,' You're Sick

Does 'Nosferatu' Have a Post-Credits Scene?

This is a true story: A couple weeks ago, I went to an early fan screening of Nosferatu with my colleague, Josh Rosenberg. If anyone tells you that Robert Eggers's reimagining of the Dracula story isn't the scariest movie of the year, please find out what drugs they're on. We spent nearly the entire film with our hands half-covering our eyes. The cinema employee who monitors the night-vision security footage surely got a kick out of it.

Anyway, after the (fittingly disturbing) ending for Bill Skarsgård's Count Orlok, a good chunk of the folks in the theater... stayed. They were clearly expecting a post-credits scene. Is this what recent Hollywood has done to us? I won't spoil anything, but people watched that ending sequence in Nosferatu and wondered what's next?! The crowd at the AMC Lincoln Square that evening—expecting a final scare from Eggers—was sorely disappointed.

So, if you're here to find out if Nosferatu has a post-credits scene, no, it does not. The superhero-tinged version of this film would surely see Count Orlok's claws extending toward Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult) while he's working on his next real estate deal in some other exotic location. But this isn't that kind of film.

Instead, I invite you to join in on the rumour mill surrounding Eggers's next project. Rest assured, the man is busy. "I have five things going on, because you never know what’s going to work, what’s going to appeal to people, what’s going to be greenlit," the horror auteur told Indiewire. He added, "I would like to do a Western at some point."
